higher love is gold.

just a few days into the new year...I'm filled with
inspiration and hope
and sadly, a heavy heart; today
{see note below}.

music touches my soul intensely.
it inspires me.
it heals me.
I want to share a couple songs
that have come into my life
in the past weeks.
these songs are playing over and over again,
not only to be heard aloud throughout our home,
but also in my head.
you could say they are the soundtrack for where I am,
starting off this new year full of
good things to come.

Wake Owl, Gold and James Vincent McMorrow, Higher Love;
both songs were shared by my friend, Kat from Secrets of a Butterfly
she may not know the impact she has on myself, and others, but
she touches my heart with her generous kindness
and I am very grateful for her gifts.
so, here,
let me share these gifts with you.
may they
stir something in your soul
as well.

"So, didn't you find love or salvation in what they do,

A heart is built of gold, they fairies they are too, it's in the hands you

Hold,

How long can we ignore, we build a little more, and then we break our truth

Ooo

I don't feel like I'm falling, I'm up against the sky,

I said I'd taken it all in to make the good life,

I don't feel like I'm falling, I'm up against the sky,

Let's grab the heart of the world and turn into the light

[ Lyrics from: http://www.lyricsty.com/wake-owl-gold-lyrics.html ]

But I cannot turn around, the angels hear me now, go where I'm bound,

You smile like you know the new world has been found

Ooo

I don't feel like I'm falling, I'm up against the sky,

I said I'd taken it all in to make the good life,

I don't feel like I'm falling, I'm up against the sky,

Let's grab the heart of the world and turn into the light

I don't feel like I'm falling, I'm up against the sky,

Let's grab the heart of the world and turn into the light"

and this beauty;
I have worn this song out
while tears streamed down my face.
sometimes a song just does that to me.
it's a good thing. tears can be so healing.

please listen to James Vincent McMorrow sing:

Higher Love.

I love the lyrics of both of these songs.

on a sad note: my father-in-law passed away unexpectedly
wednesday night, causing a flood of emotions
and an extremely heavy heart.

it is with this post that I honor him
for the gift he gave to me,
the love of my life, my husband,
who inspires me and gives me hope every day.
