get excited and make things.

today, while looking through toast,
I fell in love with

while i don't really need these,
(not now, anyway, it's 90 degrees outside here in southern california),
i LOVE them and want them bad.
i decided to look around a bit to see where i might find them in the states.
i happened upon this lovely blog with the knitting pattern for such mittens. unfortunately i don't knit, but thought her blog was amazing
and full of wonderful patterns and ideas for knitters (which i'm not)
and bakers (which i am).

also found these beauties from knitlush.

so, i won't be knitting the mittens, but will be baking
these delicious peanut butter chocolate chip cookies.

happy fall. even though it still feels like summer.

so delicious looking, words are not needed.
just cookies are needed. these cookies. now.

love these amazing dresses.
this photo makes me want to grab my beat-up tony lamas,
put on a romantic, girly dress and head to the pumpkin patch.

simple, yet sophisticated. perfect for fall.
i'll be wearing mine with a vintage flannel,
moccasins and jeans.

couldn't resist this print or name.
i am obsessed with anything that has the words
'pumpkin' and 'pie' in the fall.

fall is a great time to turn a new leaf.
set some goals. be adventurous.

5 is my absolute favorite number.
i love this room.
i want to sit in this chair now
and drink a chai tea latte.

happy fall my friends, hope you'll find time this week to
grab a cup of tea, a maple scone, pumpkin ginger cookies, or slice of pumpkin bread,
cuddle up with a journal in a big comfy chair,
and write about your dreams and goals for the upcoming season.

perhaps a bike ride to see the beautiful changing of the leaves
would be a nice place to start.

i heart music.

i love music. it's like breathing to me.

thought i'd share a few favorites:

anya marina.

move you. okay, i basically love everything she does,
but today, i'm sharing one song from each artist.
if you love them like i do, you'll soon get to know all their songs.
anya's are all beautiful.

jason mraz.

a beautiful mess. {those who know me are wondering
why JM wasn't at the top of this list.
he's been a favorite of mine forever}.
this is a song with the most amazing lyrics.
they touch me deeply,
but of course, i know all his songs by heart.

lily allen.

f*** you is my favorite, because i like the song, and it's meaning.
i'm not a girl who cusses, well at least not very often,
but this song is so suitable for humming when you just want
to scream it out loud. i'm so not into haters.

bob marley.

redemption song is my favorite.
it's like a prayer for me. like really spiritual.
when i hear it. the world stops.

jack johnson.

angel and go on. again, i love all his work, but
these two {yes, i chose two for JJ} songs touch me where it hurts.
i can listen to these over and over again. and i have.

should i or shouldn't i?

i have wavy, beachy, middle of my back, long hair.
i like messy, morning-after hair.
i'm not a polished-type of girl.
i've never straightened
or even blow-dryed my hair.

all was fine until i saw these photos of james {jaime} king
in Elle today.

the caption reads:

carnaby street bohemianism.

it might as well read:

get your hair cut now!

because,
all of the sudden,
i have this crazy urge to cut my hair.

should i or shouldn't i?

pink.
